# Entry points

An entry point is the published boundary between a campaign and the outside world. It decides how a prospect arrives and what the first moments look like.

## What it controls

| Area | Examples |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| First impression | Greeting message, initial auto-open card, starter prompts |
| Attached content | Which active campaign cards are available on arrival |
| Slate defaults | Asset panel layout variant copied onto new Slates |
| Embed presentation | Design, launcher, position, scale, z-index, appearance overrides |
| Embed behavior | Card link behavior, desktop filmstrip, wave prompts |
| Prompting | Save-Slate prompt mode, personalized welcome |

## Ways in

| Path | Route |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| Shortlink | `GET /e/:token` |
| Direct wallet route | `GET /campaigns/:campaignId/entry-points/:entryPointId` |
| Embed widget | Preflight through `POST /e/:token/closed-widget` |
| Dynamic link | A tokenized launch URL with one customized PDF initial card |
| Preview | A short-lived authenticated Admin preview session |

## Greeting and personalization

The greeting message is persisted as the first assistant message on the new Slate — it is real conversation history, not UI chrome.

With `personalizedWelcomeEnabled`, the Slate is additionally marked so Wallet can trigger a second personalized follow-up once prospect-safe HubSpot profile or activity context is ready.

## Starter prompts

An entry point selects up to five active campaign prompt suggestions.

Public Wallet bootstrap deliberately omits their text. A participant reads `starterPrompts` from `GET /slates/:slateId`, derived from that Slate's entry attribution. With no attribution or no active selections, the Slate returns an empty list.

## Card link behavior

`embeddedCardLinkBehavior` decides what a card link does inside an embed: open the card in the Slate, navigate the host page, or open a new tab. Eligible domains are derived from the entry point's linked active campaign cards and each card's effective host-navigation URL.

## Waves

A wave is a proactive prompt shown before the widget is opened. Wave text is generated for the exact safe page and session context plus Prompt Pill Library guidance, with a same-session cooldown.

Campaign name, description, entry-point name and greeting, goal and question progress, and campaign cards are intentionally excluded from wave prompt model context.

## Attribution

Entry-point Wallet bootstrap writes a `slate_entry_attribution_audit` row. That row is what later resolves the Slate's starter prompts and entry provenance.

## Automatic disabling

An entry point can be disabled with `disabledReason: default_card_unavailable` when its selected initial card becomes unavailable.
