# Create cards

A card is the presentation a prospect sees when conversing with a SlateCX agent.

Cards are reusable across campaigns and are created from a source. You can create any number of cards from a source and they are completely optional.

Cards are often used to make the conversation more interactive. For example, you might create a card containing a video, or a chart, or a calculator.

## Card variants

There are lots of different types of cards you can use in your SlateCX campaign.

| Variant | Backed by |

## How do I create a card?

1. Navigate to the Library.
2. Select an existing source
3. Select Manage Cards

Depending on what source you are using you will see different options on how to create cards. If you are using a crawled web source you can use AI to automatically generated candidate cards from the source.

This is will create you a set of cards that you can review and modify until you are happy wit with them.

## Card Attributes

Name - give your are card a useful name so you know why you created it.

Description - describe what the card is designed to show

Status and usage - this will update automatically showing you where the card is being used by your prospects.

## Card Display

In the Display tab you can modify how your card looks. Depending on the card type you will see different options. One of the most useful features if you are creating a screenshot card is to modify the crop so your cards appears exactly as you would like.

## Card Behavior

In the Behavior tab you specify how the card should behave within the SlateCX agent. The most important setting is the 'Intent rule', this determine when the SlateCX agent should present this card to the prospect. You specify in your own words how the card should appear.

The AI will determine whether the rule is met and will push the card. If you would prefer a non-AI push that is also possible using a deterministic push rule.

If you enable the 'Add after engagement threshold' slider the card will automatically be pushed after a defined number of prospect messages (i.e. once the prospect has a asked a specific number of questions).
